SPONSORSHIP

In 1999, after performing for many of North America's greatest Blues festivals, Southside Shuffle founder and Downchild Blues Band Lead Singer, Chuck Jackson felt it was time to bring the Blues home and the rest, as they say, is history.

Throughout the years, the continuous growth of the Southside Shuffle has been an astounding experience. An elevation in popular Main Stage entertainment, additional stages, increased number of local business and venue participation and naturally, an increase in attendance. There is also the tremendous economic impact for the local community and the city of Mississauga generated by the Southside Shuffle and the estimated 75,000 people who visit.

This Port Credit Blues & Jazz Festival has become more than a three-day, weekend event. Thanks to Thursday evening Beggar's Blues Banquet and the Sick Kids Jam Stage, over a hundred thousand dollars has been raised for Sick Kids Hospital throughout the years.

Now entering it's fourth year, the New Orleans Gala, has also raised an excess of a hundred thousand dollars for the Southside Shuffle and Mississauga South local charitable organizations. The Southside Shuffle has become the epitome of community spirit.

In 2007, over 25,000 people attended the Fram Slokker Street Shuffle and an estimated capacity crowd in the newly renovated Memorial Park Saturday evening for Blues Guitar Legend, Buddy Guy.

Music fans from all over the world, flock to the village of Port Credit in anticipation of what is now known as, one of the best Blues and Jazz Festivals in all of North America.

Now, a half million dollar, destination festival, the Southside Shuffle celebrates its 10th anniversary. September 5th - 7th, 2008.

The success of the Southside Shuffle would not be possible if it were not for the generous financial, material and advertising support of our Sponsors and the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and efforts.

Events and activities begin with an idea and it's sponsorship and dedication that brings the concept to fruition for all of us to enjoy, community and worldwide.

Thank you to everyone who makes it happen. You could say, the Southside Shuffle put Port Credit on the map.
